Mayor Danny Toreja Talks With Brgy. Malainin Officials
In a simple dinner, Ibaan Mayor Danny Toeja invited the officials of Brgy. Malainin to discuss issues and determine the needs of the said community which may be addressed by his administration.
Headed by Barangay Chairman Portus, the barangay officials aired their sentiments as to their desire to provide more services to their constituents. One particular concern that was laid before Mayor Toreja was their desire to open a barangay road in one part of their area. According to them, they're having difficulty pushing the project since the land on which they intend to open/use as barangay road is owned by a private individual. Mayor Toreja then promised to talk with the land owner with regards to the possibility of giving way to the said project since the latter is personally known to him.
On the other hand, Mayor Toreja also pledged a budget amounting to P200,000.00 which the barangay can use with other projects for the benefit of the community.
In the last couple of months, Mayor Toreja has been reaching out with different barangay officials to establish a more solid and closer working relationship with them. All of which were intended to determine how his administration can extend a helping hand to any projects which the officials wish to have in their area barangay. Although the Mayor admitted that his administration has been running short of funds, he promised to approach the national and provincial government to afford more services to the barangays.
The officials of Brgy. Malainin erstwhile expressed their gratitude to the Mayor and hope to put into reality every single thing that they've discussed with the latter. Over some bottles of beer, the officials however made it a point to always remind Mayor Toreja to keep his words in view of gentlemen's agreement.

Mayor Danny Toreja Endorses English As Medium of Teaching
Believing on Ibaenos capability to compete globally, Mayor Danny Toreja endorses and encourages the use of English as medium of teaching to students in public and private schools in Ibaan.
In his speeches to all of Graduation Rites and Commencement Exercises where he was invited as Guest Of Honor, he shared his visions for Ibaenos as someone who can speak and communicate effectively with different nationalities using English which is considered as international language. Mayor Toreja, since his election in May 2010, has been pushing for its use, specifically starting from Day Care School up to high school students.
According to him, the world is getting smaller and every country is in need of competent workers. If Ibaenos can speak fluently in English, there is no doubt that Ibaenos will be one of the most preferred employees to be hired.
Meanwhile, according to some teachers, Mayor Toreja is the first local chief executive to initiate such action particularly the use English language as medium of teaching to Day Care students. Such move is highly accepted by the teachers and supports the Mayor's program.
Some elected local officials, such as Vice-Mayor Sixto Yabyabin, Coun. Juvy Mendoza, Coun. Socrates Arellano and Coun. PJ Chua, are also supporting and rallying behind Mayor Toreja's program.
