Now on its second year, the Municipality of Ibaan's "Ugnayan Sa
Barangay Program" made its debut for the year 2012 at Brgy. Malainin,
April 25.
Ugnayan Sa Barangay was conceptualized in 2011 and was
first introduced in Brgy. Sto. Nino, Ibaan, Batangas. Led by Mayor Danny
Toreja, the program is the local government's way of bringing the
municipality closer to barangay communities. And just like last year,
each barangay will be visited, together with employees of the local
government, to deliver to the community with at least front line basic
services provided by the local government.
Almost all offices in
the local government send their representative to inform the community
of what services they provide as well to educate the people of their
basic rights they should enjoy and how they make a good use of them
through proper procedures.
Aside from that, the program was also
designed to support the local government's tax and revenue collection
activities where in representatives from Business Permits and Licensing
Section are given the opportunity to check further of the validity of
business permits of different establishments in the area. It also brings
with them information on civil registry and related existing laws,
agricultural services, livelihood programs, and solid waste management
in accordance with RA 9003.
Municipal Assessor Office, Municipal
Engineering Office, Municipal Planing and Development Council Office, Municipal Agriculture Office, Municipal Treasurer Office, Municipal Health Office, even Ibaan PNP and
others also take part in this program by educating the people on the
functions, duties and responsibilities, and areas of responsibility of
their offices.
