Mang Turni’s oldest son Teddy, on the other hand, worked as gasoline boy with the family’s gasoline station in Poblacion that allowed him to support his high school education. Teddy then moved to Lucena and started from scratch selling ukay-ukay. Fate was kind to the family. Soon enought, his 8 other siblings followed him in Lucena where they established their own business and family.
Mang Turni and his wife Aling Mimi now lives in Lucena with their children and grand children. To count, their family has grown to 43 in the last 15 years.
Other Esguerra family siblings currently live in Balayan and Lipa City. They’ve chosen Sitio Sta. Margarita as reunion venue since this is where most of the family members reside. Much more, to pay respect to Esguerra matriarch Lola Miguela who stays with Aling Epay Esgueera and Mang Aniceto Quinay.
Moreover, Mayor Toreja thanked the family for the invitation and for giving him the chance to be part of the reunion. He also encouraged the family to make the reunion a tradition, say every 3 or 5 years, to establish closer and stronger family ties among the Esguerras.
