School Press Conference held in Puerto Princesa, Palawan late this
March 2012. They emerged 5th Over-all Champion among hundreds of
delegates all over the country.
The Municipality of Ibaan, led by Mayor Danny Toreja and Vice Mayor Sixto Yabyabin recognized them in a simple ceremony after the municipal employees’ flag ceremony. The students and their coaches received medals of recognition.

Now on its second year, the Municipality of Ibaan's "Ugnayan Sa
Barangay Program" made its debut for the year 2012 at Brgy. Malainin,
April 25.
Ugnayan Sa Barangay was conceptualized in 2011 and was first introduced in Brgy. Sto. Nino, Ibaan, Batangas. Led by Mayor Danny Toreja, the program is the local government's way of bringing the municipality closer to barangay communities. And just like last year, each barangay will be visited, together with employees of the local government, to deliver to the community with at least front line basic services provided by the local government.
Almost all offices in the local government send their representative to inform the community of what services they provide as well to educate the people of their basic rights they should enjoy and how they make a good use of them through proper procedures.
Aside from that, the program was also designed to support the local government's tax and revenue collection activities where in representatives from Business Permits and Licensing Section are given the opportunity to check further of the validity of business permits of different establishments in the area. It also brings with them information on civil registry and related existing laws, agricultural services, livelihood programs, and solid waste management in accordance with RA 9003.
Municipal Assessor Office, Municipal Engineering Office, Municipal Planing and Development Council Office, Municipal Agriculture Office, Municipal Treasurer Office, Municipal Health Office, even Ibaan PNP and others also take part in this program by educating the people on the functions, duties and responsibilities, and areas of responsibility of their offices.

Mushroom Growing Training In Ibaan
Through the initiative of Ibaan Municipal Agriculture Office, headed by Ms. Ethel Joy Caiga, a mushroom growing training was conducted at IMAO with local farmers in attendance.
Mayor Danny Toreja and Vice Mayor Sixto Yabyabin also attended the seminar and participated in the actual preparation of mushroom bags along with others. Both agree that mushroom growing can be an alternative source of income with minimum financial and skills requirements.
The training's speaker/consultant was Edil Nobleza Bayor of USWAG Mushroom Producers Cooperative.

Financial Management Seminar For Ibaan OFW Families
A seminar was conducted, through KATIKHA, a non-profit organization specializing in providing support and assistance to the families of OFW, with families of Ibaan OFWs in attendance at Ibaan Sangguniang Bayan Hall It was made primarily to teach the families left behind by the OFWs proper financial management. But more importantly, how to handle relationships and to maintain strong family ties among them.
Mayor Danny Toreja shared his views on the importance of keeping the family intact despite the absence of members of the family working abroad. He also emphasized on giving value, respect, and importance on the money being sent by the OFW, regardless of the amount.
Vice Mayor Sixto Yabyabin was also present during the seminar.
